Green
is a widely underused wedding color, but it really pops in photographs. It's
also very friendly to a lot of skin tones, which makes it a good choice for
bridesmaid dresses. Green works well with black as well as yellow if you're
looking to pair colors (or add sashes to dresses, for example), so you can
really make an impact with your wedding by threading some green into the color
scheme.
Most
summer weddings are held outdoors, under the sunshine. Add even more light to
your special day by weaving yellow into your patterns. If you're using white
table settings, yellow can offset the white and add a punch of color. Yellow
also stands out in centerpieces, especially when paired with other bold colors
like purple. As a complementary color, yellow
fits in well to many wedding themes. Keep it simple and focus on adding it into
details rather than big pieces (a yellow corsage, for example, makes a more
subtle statement than a yellow bridesmaid gown).
Most
beach wedding planners will at least consider blue. Like green, this color pops
out in photographs and stands strong against blue skies and ocean waters. Even
if your weddings not at the beach, however, blue can be a powerful choice.
Bridesmaids will thank you if you choose a forgiving color of blue (such as
teal or royal, which tend to look best on multiple skin tones). Blue also makes
a stark contrast in your bouquet or hairpieces walking down the aisle (and
meets your "something blue" requirement!). Another great thing about blue is that it
stands out against the majority of reception walls and ceilings whether you're
in wood paneling or white walls. It can make a beautiful statement no matter
where you hold your ceremony and reception.
